School Emergency Procedures

No-School Announcement

The decision to cancel school because of inclement weather is made by the Headmaster. A variety of circumstances dictate this important decision, which is often difficult to make because we wish to have school in session as many days as possible without jeopardizing the safety of our families.

Obviously weather conditions vary greatly among the towns in which our constituency resides, so from the variety and timing of forecasts of the traffic conditions, one must be guided by reports at 5:30- 6:00 a.m. to make a judgment.

If you feel that the weather conditions in your area make it dangerous to drive, please rely on your judgment to keep your young person at home.

If you listen to radio stations WEEI, WHDH, WBZ or WBUR, you will hear our notices. They will also be listed on television channels 4,5 and 7. The Alertnow Notification System is also in place allowing us to send automated telephone messages.  If you do not receive a phone call, please call us immediately so the situation can be corrected.  On those days that you think you might be called, please turn off your answering machine/voice mail so that you will receive the phone call. The answering machine on the telephone at School will also have a no school message.

Delayed Opening

School delay starting time will be 9:00 unless otherwise stipulated. As in all potentially dangerous situations, parents are to use their own discretion about sending their young people to school. Dismissal times will remain the same as usual for all grades. You will be notified of a delayed opening through the phone chain.
