Parents' Council (PC) is Meadowbrook's parent association and an established, active part of the school community. All Meadowbrook parents are automatically members of the PC and considered a vital resource to the school. Whether your family is new or returning to Meadowbrook, the PC looks forward to working with you to further close cooperation and understanding within our community, as well as to share in some great family events. Our hope is that the broad range of volunteer opportunities will provide you with meaningful, fun and rewarding ways to meet other parents, observe the day-to-day atmosphere of the school and contribute to our community.
Some of you have already witnessed, and others will soon discover, that Meadowbrook truly practices what it preaches. Teachers and coaches really do know your child, support your child, and challenge your child. Meadowbrook prides itself on being a “high-touch” community where the school works in partnership with parents to bring out the best in each child.
There is no better way to share and experience our children’s school life than by becoming involved in the PC. Indeed, there is nothing more powerful than to set an example for our children through our own volunteerism. Whether it is working alongside classroom teachers as room parents, helping out at the Book Fair, coordinating community service projects, selling gift wrap to raise funds for Meadowbrook’s Understanding Differences program, working the cider press or grill at our annual OctoberFest, tending the garden alongside teachers and other parents, or organizing this Spring’s Multicultural Fair, it is through these shared experiences with our children, their teachers and fellow parents that we create the community that is Meadowbrook. We encourage you to get involved and give as much or as little of your time as your schedule permits.
Please check the website for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, and join us. We invite you to use the Parents’ Council as a resource. If you have any questions or comments about the activities of our organization, or if we can be of any help, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to sharing the vitality and spirit of our community with you.
