Athletics is an essential part of Meadowbrook students’ lives, instilling not only healthy behaviors but healthy attitudes toward competition. Our children learn how to win – and lose – with grace and sportsmanship.

There is an athletic opportunity for every student at Meadowbrook. Our athletic requirement means that no student is left without a team to call his own. Whether it’s physical education for a 3rd grader, or Varsity lacrosse for an 8th grader, or intramural tennis for a 6th grader, we make sure that each child finds a sport that appeals to her. At the same time, our coaches encourage students to get out of their comfort zone and try something new.

Meadowbrook coaches have a depth of athletic experience that is second to none, many having played in college on varsity teams or as part of local leagues. And our coaches are also teachers – which means they understand what’s going on in the classroom and what might be affecting a student’s performance. The focus is on the whole child, not just what’s happening on the playing field.
Depending on the season, students can choose from wide range of sports and physical pursuits:
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Lacrosse
  • Softball
  • Baseball
  • Squash
  • Cross-country running
  • Track and field
  • Tennis
  • Fitness
  • Ropes course
  • Dance
  • Rock-climbing

Michael Snoddy has been Meadowbrook’s Athletic Director for 23 years.  He is intensely proud of all of the students that have graced our halls and strongly committed to the idea of balance in a student’s life.

“When a student puts on her Meadowbrook shirt, she represents herself, her family, her school, and her community.  So it’s important that we not only teach the value of hard work and competitiveness but the concepts of sportsmanship and respect as well," says Mr. Snoddy.

“Athletics is the most public classroom.  Pride at Meadowbrook takes many forms, but you can always see it on the playing field.”
