Community Involvement

Meadowbrook makes every effort to instill in students the potential they have to support and give back to their community through our Community Service Learning program. The program combines community service with the academic curriculum, and involves parents, students and faculty members united in a common goal.

In addition, every class elects two representatives to the Make-A-Difference (MAD) organization, Meadowbrook's volunteer community service organization. Through this program, students create meaningful fundraisers and activities, for example: handmade placements given to shelters at Thanksgiving, book drives, food/clothing drives, collecting tab-tops for the Ronald McDonald house, and Valentines for service men and women. The MAD committee raises money throughout the year, and  at years' end, the students select various non-profit organizations to support.

Similarly, students often bring the gift of service to local citizens in need. Meadowbrook students regularly visit area nursing homes to share songs, assist at local food pantries and soup kitchens, and help harvest and plant at a local farm.
