Diversity
What Does It Mean?
- To treat each member of our community with dignity.
- To respect not only diversity of appearance but that of opinions, beliefs and practices, and ideas.
- To reflect and honor the history and backgrounds that we represent as individuals within an inclusive school family.
How Do We Support It?
Meadowbrook's strong commitment to multicultural education and inclusion is demonstrated by the Multicultural Affairs Office's impact on the entire JK-8 community. The office works to embed multicultural education practices into the Meadowbrook curriculum. It supports the needs of students, parents, faculty and staff by coordinating programming that supports Meadowbrook's mission and by offering professional development opportunities for the community. Our trademark outreach program is called Meadowbrook Vacation Program (MVP). Launched in 2015, MVP is designed for public school children in 3rd-5th grade from neighboring towns. These students join us on campus for a fun and engaging three-day program. Click here to learn more about MVP.
The Multicultural Affairs team also works with the Head of School and Division Heads to ensure an equitable process for recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
