Technology Programs

At Meadowbrook, technology is a skillfully employed tool for success.

We teach children to think critically about a concept or problem and apply the app or product that can best solve it. When our students graduate, they know how to evaluate and manage their technology choices, adapt to unfamiliar situations, and select the proper tool for a particular task.

Tools That Grow With Students

We make sure students thoroughly grasp the basics but then have access to more sophisticated tools and concepts.

  • Every child has their own computing device from junior kindergarten onward.

  • Jr-K, Sr-K, and first through fifth grades have dedicated technology instruction in core areas such as programming, keyboarding, and computational concepts.

  • Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders have electives such as robotics and film production.

  • All students learn about the ethical use of technology through our award-winning digital citizenship curriculum.

  • All students use the Danoff Family Innovation Center, which offers 3D printing, vinyl and laser cutting, circuitry, and endless opportunities for creativity.

The Meadowbrook Library

Resources and programming abound through our state-of-the-art library, from e-books and databases to storytime and the Writing Center.

Beyond News and Notes

The middle school years are a time of dramatic physical and cognitive growth and hormonal changes. Young adolescents are also shifting their focus from their families to their peers.

Thus, an effective middle school program must do far more than prepare students for the academic challenges of high school.
