Student Support Services
Meadowbrook’s mission is to know, love and challenge all students. In keeping with this mission, the Student Support Services Department appreciates that all students learn differently and supports students in reaching their academic, social, and emotional potential. The Student Support Services Department consists of three learning specialists and two part time counselors. Learning specialists and counselors help students develop an understanding of themselves as learners and find ways to advocate for their own particular learning needs.
The Student Support Services department operates in both divisions and provides a range of support and advocacy for students with particular learning needs. Learning specialists provide direct instruction of specific skills and help students develop their metacognitive abilities throughout the grades. Learning specialists maintain ongoing collaborations with school counselors, administration, teaching faculty, families and other professionals inside and outside of school to support students’ learning and emotional needs.
