Facilities Technician
Location: Weston, MA
Type: Full TimeMin. Experience: Experienced

The Meadowbrook School of Weston is a co-educational independent day school for students in grades junior kindergarten through eight. The school is a multi-building, year-round campus situated on approximately 30 acres in a quiet residential area of Weston, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all routine maintenance tasks relative to the operation of all buildings on campus.
  • Perform general maintenance work as required / requested.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, carpentry and other trades-related tasks.
  • Assist in keeping & updating maintenance logs, inventory records and replacement schedules for equipment and supplies.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules, including facilities and district procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and guests.
  • Respond to school facilities-related emergencies during and / or after school hours.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment as required.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work effectively under pressure to meet urgent deadlines in a service-oriented environment that can be subject to frequently changing priorities.
  • Assist maintenance staff with snow removal and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Monitor, service and do minor repairs to various HVAC, plumbing and other utility systems throughout the facility.
  • Ensure the continued compliance of the school’s recycling program.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the School’s exterior, to include sweeping, and trash and recycling collections.
  • Assist in the opening, cleaning and maintenance of two swimming pools during the summer.
  • Keep storage rooms organized and monitor inventory levels of supplies.
  • Assist with the landscaping needs of soccer, baseball and practice fields including painting sports lines seasonally for soccer and lacrosse.
  • Assist with receiving and unloading deliveries as needed.
  • Assist with the set-up and break down of rooms for special events.
  • Respond to facilities-related request using a computer-based (Gridium) work order system.
  • Assist with safety drills and crisis planning.
  • Assist in overseeing facilities rentals and afternoon sports games as needed.
  • Assist with monitoring parking and campus traffic control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications / Personal Attributes

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of facilities maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Willing to work overtime hours during the week, or weekend, and stay late occasionally for school events as needed.
  • Willing to take required courses to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of maintenance products and procedures.
  • Must be, or become, certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • Must be, or become, a Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
  • Must be able to work outdoors during inclement weather.
  • Must be physically able to safely perform the various tasks required in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be punctual and able to keep to required work schedules, and follow work rules.
  • Should be open, flexible and adaptable to new challenges and tasks as they come up.
  • Should treat others with respect, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, background, or ability.
  • Should act with honestly and integrity at all times.
  • Should have good organizational and communication skills.
  • Must complete a CORI/SORI and fingerprinting background check.

Teacher's Aide
Location: Weston, MA
Type: Full TimeMin. Experience: Entry Level

The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, eleven miles west of Boston, is seeking teaching aides for all grade levels. Teaching aides will work primarily with one teacher and a small cohort of students. While a candidate’s primary placement may be in a specific grade level or subject area, they should be prepared to support other classes as needed. Candidates must be motivated, curious and enjoy working in an educational environment. Collegiality, flexibility, a nurturing disposition and a love of learning are essential.

Specific teaching proficiencies include:

  • Effective and respectful classroom management
  • Being team-oriented and collaborative
