We welcome families to apply for admission to all grades, as we expect to have open spaces in every grade (except for 8th) for the 26-27 academic year. Grades in which we regularly admit larger numbers of new students are Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 6th Grade. Call us for more information.
Yes. Students entering Junior Kindergarten must be four years old by September 1st of the entry year, and Senior Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1st of the entry year.
No, unfortunately we do not accept applications for 8th grade.
Students are grouped by performance in both math and English starting in 1st grade. Classroom performance, teacher recommendations, and ERB scores are all taken into account when deciding which group a child should be placed in. The faculty monitors students carefully regardless of group and will recommend a change if it makes sense for the student. By grouping students by performance, we make sure that students are working at the right level for them as individuals.
You can volunteer as little or as much as you want to, and as your schedule allows. Meadowbrook fosters a close community, so parent involvement is encouraged and welcomed! Volunteering opportunities range from serving as a room volunteer for your child's class to serving on one of the many Parent Association committees, and more than 90 percent of parents volunteer in some way.
The Meadowbrook School admits students of any race, religion, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
